Makeup Revoltuion Highlight Palette / Hourglass Ambient Light edit dupe | review

Most of us have probably seen the beautiful Hourglass Ambient lighting palettes floating around the blogging and vlogging world. Not only are they gorgeous, but it has been noted that they are very expensive retailing at a whopping £65 for six shades which includes shades that are great for powder, bronzer, blusher and highlighter. I think I may have found the alternative for those not willing to splurge on the Hourglass palette and instead spend only £6 on one of these Makeup Revolution palettes. MUR are infamous for the high quality and low price of their eyeshadow palettes, but using their blushes and highlighters has made me love the brand even more.

The packaging is pretty simple and sleek in contrast to the luxury casing that is of the Hourglass one, which is a given considering the price. the quality of these powders are lovely though.

6 Ways to Wear Nude Eyeliner | Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in Nude

6 Ways to Wear Nude Eyeliner Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in Nude Review

Remember when everybody used to line their waterline with white eyeliner to give an illusion of bigger and brighter eyes? It turns out, we were doing it all wrong! While white eyeliner is effective, it creates a dramatic that can look quite unnatural because of the stark contrast it creates between the skin and lashes. Nude colours however, create a more radiant look but in a very subtle way. This is actually the main reason I decided to buy this Rimmel ScandalEyes nude eyeliner, so I could hide those late-night netflix sessions the next day with a simple slick of a pencil.

This particular Eye Kohl is great. Its lovely and creamy so is not too harsh to use on the eyes, and doesn't break easily like a lot of pencil eyeliners often do. You can sharpen it too, which I prefer more than the mechanical ones if I'm honest, as I just feel you have more control on the sharpness of the product for a more precise application. Best of all its waterproof so it lasts ages even on your waterline. For only £3.99 it is great value too. I've also discovered many other uses for a nude eyeliner that you can try out for yourself - so you really do get your moneys worth!

Waterline: As I mentioned above, the most common use of nude eyeliner is for your waterline. Simply apply it in the morning to create a wide-awake and more radiant look, which is always great when you need to catch up on some last-minute assignments!

Highlight: Use it on the inner corners of the eye, your brown bone or your cupids bow on top of your lips to highlight and bring out the sharpest points of your face that can tend to look a little bit dull. With a little bit of application to these spots, your entire face will look brighter.

Erase Mistakes: Whether its to sharpen your winged eyeliner or to clean up a smokey eye, a little application of nude eyeliner will help to hide those pesky mistakes and create a flawless finished look.

Outlining: After filling in your eyebrows or applying your favourite bright lipstick, outlining the edge of your brows and lips will clean up any product bleeding for a sharper finished look whilst giving an impression of fuller eyebrows and plumper lips.

Conceal: By applying a little of nude eyeliner on top of a spot or pimple is a great cover-up when you don't have a concealer handy. Do be careful though in case of any spreading of infections from the eyeliner stick, as it could spread to other parts of your face which is something you definitely to not want to happen!

Use as a base: I love using this as an eyeshadow base when theres no eye primer available as it neutralises the redness on my lids and makes the colour of my eyeshadow to really stand out. With a light application, it even lasts all day which is better than most eyeshadow bases. Using it to fill in your lips before any lipstick also does the same thing by creating a blank canvas for any lip colour you wish to use on top.

So there you have it - my favourite ways to wear nude eyeliner. As such a versatile product, I really recommend adding this to your staple make-up bag because there really is so much you can do with just one product! You can buy it here from Boots or Superdrug

Pristine Dead Sea Mud Mask | Review

Pristine Dead Sea Mud face Mask Review amazon

Pristine Dead Sea Mud face Mask Review amazon

You might have seen from a few of my other posts that I sure do love a good face mask. They just seem to always leave me feeling refreshed and are a great relaxation product to use at the end of a hectic week to pamper the skin a little. I have previously tried a mud mask before and even did a review on it, but I couldn't wait to try a different brand as I was so pleased with the results last time.

Pristine Dead Sea Mud face Mask Review amazon

Mud masks are one of those products that are used to really clean the skin and lift impurities and clogged up pores. Recently I have really felt the need to incorporate such a mask as for some reason I kept breaking out and my skin was looking quite dull (my diet hasn't been very healthy recently, so my skin issues are probably down to that unfortunately).

There are so many benefits of using a mud mask, but this Pristine Dead Sea Mud Mask in particular claims to:

  • Purify the pores as a natural skin cleanser
  • Promote clearer skin and reduce the frequency of blemishes
  • Remove excess oil to combat shine
  • Minimize enlarged pores
  • Diminish the appearance of wrinkles
  • Address blackheads
  • Ease inflammation
  • Reduce the prominence of scars
  • Protect skin from free radical damage with antioxidant vitamin E
  • Restore vitality and radiance to the complexion
Not only is natural and organic, but also vegan and cruelty free. I find that incorporating natural products into your skincare routine makes such a difference to the overall result. With vegan products not readily available as I think that they should be (especially in the drugstore, which kind of infuriates me), Pristine have done well in upholding their ethics when creating this product.

I have used this product multiple times now, although I try not to use it more than once a week as that is all that is needed for the product to work. I slathered the mask on to my face, using a flat foundation brush to create an even finish. The texture of this surprised me as it wasn't as heavy as the previous Dead Sea Mud Mask I used. It was actually pretty light on the skin and easy to work with it. After I let it dry for just under 15 minutes, I found that the product didn't harden up like other masks often do. Instead it remained in the original texture, which I was really pleased with as it meant there was no uncomfortableness or tingling on my face.

After washing the mask off, my face felt instantly clean. There was no drastic difference that would wow people instantly, but I did find a difference in the texture of my skin. Not only did it smoothen my skin but I felt like it really gave my face a deep clean, leaving a 'glowing within look'. After every use, I can see a slight improvement in the overall appearance, that it just keeps me going back for more! If you're looking for similar results, then I would recommend checking this product out. You can buy it on Amazon for £14.97, which is a great price considering the tube is huge and is sure to last a while. You can buy the product here

Scrub Love Coffee Body Scrub in Mint Temptation

Scrub Love Coffee Body Scrub in Mint Temptation natural organic skincare

I am a huge fan of body scrubs and have recently seen the appearance of coffee scrubs propping up on various beauty blogs which scream abut the benefits that leaves your skin looking amazing. Not only is a scrub a great exfoliant but the coffee is a natural ingredient that improves the look and feel of your skin. What's not to like?!

Scrub Love is a UK brand that is 100% natural. Yes, 100%! Not only are their products organic, but they are also fairtrade and ethically sourced which gives you peace of mind that your purchase is coming from a good place. And boy is it worth it.

First of all, this scrub smells AMAZING. I cannot get over the smell, it just reminds me of strong mint chocolate. I'm not the biggest fan of mint scents but I am actually obsessed with this one. I reckon even if you don't like mint scents you will like this (if not, then there are also other scents you can choose from on the Scrub Love website).

I have the scrub in 'Mint Temptation' which has organic Robusta coffee, tea tree oil, organ oil, peppermint oil and dead sea salt. Whilst the coffee part buffs away dead skin cells, all the different oils help to smooth out, heal and cleanse the skin to leave it looking and feeling nourished.

After using this scrub a few times, I have quickly become obsessed. It feels so good to buff into my skin without being at all harsh or drying. Its actually quite a therapeutic process, especially with the added bonus of the peppermint aroma. All I do is apply it and then leave it evenly onto my skin and leave for around five minutes. Even when I don't have time, I wash it off after a couple of minutes and I can still feel a difference in the texture of my skin. I am totally happy with the result as it gives a lovely glow and brightens up the dull complexion on my arms and legs and wherever else i tend to use it.

If you want to hold on tight to summer for a little bit longer, than this is the product for you! Or if like me you can't wait for winter when you tend let go of your skincare routine (I for one am guilt of this) this product is great to give your skin a much-needed boost. You can even use the scrub on your face as the natural ingredients are perfectly suitable even for sensitive areas. Other variations include 'Original Lovin' and 'Coconut Affair' which are the perfect body scrubs brightening and hydrating skin. You can find out more and purchase your own product on the Scrub Love website here

6 Reasons why you need a Tangle Teezer in your life

6 Reasons advice Tangle Teezer hair haircare brush comb Britain

6 Reasons advice Tangle Teezer hair haircare brush comb Britain

6 Reasons advice Tangle Teezer hair haircare brush comb Britain

I remember when Tangle Teezers first launched in the UK, they were the big thing that everyone needed to get their hands on. I simply never understood what the big fuss was about, and at the time spending £10.99 seemed a bit ridiculous for a hairbrush. Fast forward to last month, where I finally gave in and splurged on this infamous hairbrush.  I decided to purchase the compact version used for travelling just to keep in my handbag as noticed my hair gets quite frizzy throughout the day. Not many brands do travel hairbrushes so I thought I may as well get the infamous Tangle Teezer to see what the big deal was. Seeing as my hair is thick and wavy, and most of the time fry, I wasn't sure this would quite do the job but boy was I wrong. Here are 10 great things I have since discovered about my new obsession:

1. Its so compact... which makes it great even for my smaller handbags as it takes up hardly any space.

2. The design is lovely... and there are so many other options to choose from if this particular one isn't your style

3. It actually detangles my untameable hair...  and helps get rid of any knots that magically appear throughout the day.

4. It keeps frizz at bay... for most of the day anyway.

5. Its made in Britain... not a big deal to some but I think its great that we're supporting something great that originated over here in the UK.

6. Theres loads of different styles you can choose from to suit your needs.... the Original, Styler and Aqua versions are just a few of my favourites.

Weleda Skincare Products

Weleda Skincare Products face cream cute pink and green natural organic

Weleda Skincare Products cleanser cleansing lotion cute pink and green natural organic

Weleda is not a brand I've heard much about before but after reading their product information, I was intrigued to try out their products for myself and put them properly to the test on my skin.

First off, the packaging is so pretty. It looks fresh and purifying, which are the main values of the company. The packaging of each product makes it easy to use without risk of spillages or use of excess product. The bright colours are indicative of the natural ingredients and brand values of Weleda, who are a company focussed on furthering the economy and promoting health and well-being across the globe.

I got on really well with each of the products and found that they nourished my highly dry and sensitive skin and calmed down the irritation I had from sun-burn on my nose (my bad for not wearing enough sun protection!). The face cream is lovely and rich, whilst the cleansing lotion is great for my skin as it doesn't strip it of the natural oils but instead leaves it feeling nourished after use. The scent is also very fresh which made it enjoyable to use. Even just after the first use of the facial oil, my complexion felt plump and it didn't leave any sort of residue on my skin like oils and serums often do. With regular and consistent use, I hope that this healthiness in my skin is maintained, which I am sure it will be.

My favourite product was the Skin Food, which I used daily on my face. It is suitable for the whole body which is great when you need to spot dream certain dry spots. It hydrated my skin really well which lastd all day and just gave me a nice fresh glow.

Have you tried any of the Weleda products? Which do you like the sound of that you'd consider trying out?  You can find out more about their skincare offerings here
