Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm - Peach Kiss Review

Maybelline new york baby lips lip balm / gloss review

What it says it does:
“New Baby Lips lip balm from Maybelline New York gives intense care and 8 hour hydration, and is nourishing for baby soft lips. Its clinically tested formula has a hint of colour and leaves lips feeling softer and smoother. “

My thoughts on the product:
After finally giving in to the hype that surrounds the Maybelline “Baby Lips” range, I ventured out to Superdrug to purchase one for myself. As I rummaged around the messy display (it was clear the product proved very popular amongst the young ones), I was suprised to see so many shades although none tickled my fancy straight away as I was looking for something with a bit of a natural colour and lots of hydration. Cherry Me and Pink Punch looked appealing straight away but instead I decided to go for a bit of a different shade and one that was missing from my collection. For me it was Peach Kiss. With a lovely purple and peach packaging, it was one of the more subtle shades out there (apart from Hydrate which is clear and comes in a cute blue casing.)
The smell as soon as applied is lovely, a nice and subtle peachy smell that isn’t too prominant for a casual day out. When applied, the colour is more of a natural colour, which is why I chose it, but also leaves a quite a nice shimmery finish which may not suit everybody's tastes.

It’s main use is meant to be to moisturise your lips, and being prone to very dry lips myself, I have to admit it does this. With a nice sleek design, it’s so easy to carry with me everywhere I go to apply whenever my lips feel a little dry and washed out. They instantly feel softer, but unfortunately it doesn’t last very long and needs to be reapplied quite frequently.

Although I do love this product, I have to say that there are better products out there that give more moisture and more colour pigmentation. If I'm honest, I'd rather buy a little tin of  Vaseline Rosy Lips but if you prefer something a little different and that is poular at the minute, at £2.99 its not badly priced although I do think Maybelline can do much better quality-wise.

You can purchase this from many drugstores, including Superdrug and Boots for £2.99.
