L'oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara | Review

Whilst out shopping, I came across a product that I don't see too often and was blue mascara. More importantly, a blue L'oreal Million lashes mascara. I love the original black version so I took the risk an purchased this one to add something a little different to a casual daytime look.

The packaging is a bold blue colour with gold detail, and feels a really nice quality for a mascara, with a lovely sleek design.
I love the small bristles on the wand, I think it is probably the best one that I have used. As the bristles are quite small and quite fine, the mascara coats the eyelashes thoroughly and truly creates volume without the clunks that usually comes with it.

The colour itself can be quite daunting as blue is quite an eccentric '80's' colour, but wanting to try something unique, I decided to wear this on a day out shopping. To my delight, it doesn't create a shockingly bright look but instead subtly coats the lashes in a dullish blue that adds colour to the eyes without making it look too obvious. No-one actually noticed I was wearing blue mascara, although I'm not sure if thats a good thing or bad!

After more frequent use, I now tend to coat my lashes in black first and then add the blue to the tips. I find that this makes my lashes thicker first and then adds a hint of colour for a bit more of a pop to the eyes.

Worn on its own or with a full face of make-up, this mascara adds a nice edge to any look. L'oreal have once again created a hit with this range as I think they are brilliant for a drugstore product. It has to be amongst my favourite mascara's ever, and I look forward to taking steps further by trying out the other colours in the range (purple looks particularly interesting.) One step at a time though.

You can buy it here from Boots.
