L'Oreal Studio Secrets Professional Pro Lip Tint felt pen

I recently received this product from my cousin recently and while I was happy to add a new lip product to my collection, I was also intrigued... I mean, a felt-tip pen you can use as lipstick? It reminded me of my little brother who genuinely used to colour his lips in with whatever colouring felt-tip pens he could find! I guess the benefits of a lip pen is that you get the accuracy of a lip-liner but hopefully the colour pigment of a lipstick or at least lip stain.

The smell actually does remind me of a little of a felt-tip pen, with more of a fruity scent to it. It applied really nicely too, and had a buildable colour which is great. I applies slightly wet, just like a felt-tip pen actually would, but dries within around 10 seconds, which allows you to then build it up to the colour you would like.

My favourite part is the colour after it has been applied. It is the perfect flushed, natural looking colour that I can not seem to find in proper lipstick form! however, the lasting power isn't too great, I would say it lasts a few hours but its so easy to pop into your handbag and reapply on the go.

Soap and Glory: Thick & Fast Super Volume Mascara | Review

Soap and Glory: Thick & Fast Super Volume Mascara | Review beauty makeup

Soap and Glory: Thick & Fast Super Volume Mascara | Review beauty cosmetics skincare

Soap and Glory make-up has been around for a while but the one product I see to keep popping up is the Thick and Fast Mascara. I have been using this for a while now so I thought I would share my thoughts on how I feel about the much raved about product.

As you may know by now from my previous haul posts (which you can find here and here) that I am a huge fan of their skincare range and feel that it does wonders for my skin through this rough winter time. Make-up can usually be a hit and miss for some brands but somehow that is not the case with S&G.

The packaging, much like the rest of their products, is sleek and quite cute in its design. I feel like it can look a little childish in comparison to the like of L'Oreal and Rimmel, but its nothing too drastic. The wand itself isn't exactly my favourite as I find it a little too big for my liking, but I found that it doesn't make my mascara clumpy or anything. That probably has something to do the formula as it is really nice and thin, and coats the lashes nice and easily. Whats great about this is that it gives really good volume and length which you can build up really easily without it looking clumpy. As for the price of £10, its not exactly cheap but in comparison to the others on the market, it is worth it especially when bought in conjunction with another Soap and Glory product on offer!

Mascara is a very individual taste and depends on what you like from a mascara and what it does for your own lashes. What may work for someone else may not work for you so bear that in mind! I do feel S&G have done well in creating their own contender for the drugstore mascara market, its just a matter if it is as good as, or better even, as the coveted Maybelline's Lash Sensational or any others that are floating around the blogging world right now.

Smoothie Recipe | Featuring Indigo Herbs Vegan Smoothie Mix

Its come to that time of the month where the January blues have kicked in and most of us have given up on our New Years Resolutions. If I'm honest, I don't think any of my resolutions lasted for more than 5 days. However, I should probably stress that just because the New Year novelty has worn off by now, it shouldn't mean you should give up on the goals you set out to do. Whether its changes in your attitude towards life, work or health, theres always time to start - right now.

Personally, I really want 2016 to be the year that I am truly happy within myself. I feel that if I have a healthy body, it will lead to a healthy mind. I know I haven't blogged in quite a while but I hope that this will motivate me to make a fresh start in all aspects in my life. I also hope to write more lifestyle posts that have elements of health and fitness to not only document my journey to the 'healthy body and healthy mind' but also motivate you guys to do the same.

What better way to start off the year with a delicious, healthy, smoothie recipe? As you may have gathered from my smoothie bowl recipe, I love these fruity drinks! There are an infinite amount of combinations you can create, adding your favourite fruits and vegetables to the mix to find your perfect drink. As I'm not really fussed, I like to just cut up any fruit that I see is about to go bad soon, or if I just have too much in my fruit bowl, and use zip-lock bags to store them in my freezer. Freezing them also saves the need to use ice especially if you don't keep any stored, and creates a thicker smoothie mixture without any of that extra water.

1 cup Frozen Banana
1 cup Frozen Apples
1/2 cup Frozen Melon
1 cup Milk (I used almond but you can use whichever you prefer)

In any smoothie mixture, I like to use frozen banana to create that delicious creaminess to it, along with some milk and fruits that are mostly made of water (In this case I used apples and melons). Unfortunately I didn't have any vegetables or else I would have added a handful of spinach or half a carrot to the mixture. It tastes so good, you just have to try it! Of course, add or remove any fruits you wish but just try having a go in getting into the habit of smoothie drinking as it is so nutritionally dense and good for your hair, body, skin and overall health.
As I didn't have any vegetables to hand, what I did have was this Indigo Superfood Mix Powder. You're simply meant to add it to your smoothie mix and to make the perfect post or pre-workout drink. Not only is it vegan but it is a 100% blend of pure botanical ingredients. It is also high in protein, dietary fibre, vitamins A, E, C & B2 and is also high in calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc. At £6.99 for 100g, it is a pretty good price for the quality of product you get. I just add it along with my frozen fruit and milk, then blend it all together in my trusty Nutri-Blend. Whilst it does change my drink to a bright green colour making it look like I've created an uber-healthy green smoothie, it doesn't affect the taste much although I do taste a hint of herbs in comparison to the usual fruitiness. It still tastes just as delicious, just with more nutrients!

I absolutely love having this drink in the mornings and unlike my usual bowl of Cheerios, this actually keeps me full until lunchtime. I also feel a nice burst of energy, probably with all that delicous fruit and superfood nutrition. I really hope that I keep up this healthy eating and make a positive change to my lifestyle.
