Weleda Skincare Products

Weleda Skincare Products face cream cute pink and green natural organic

Weleda is not a brand I've heard much about before but after reading their product information, I was intrigued to try out their products for myself and put them properly to the test on my skin.

First off, the packaging is so pretty. It looks fresh and purifying, which are the main values of the company. The packaging of each product makes it easy to use without risk of spillages or use of excess product. The bright colours are indicative of the natural ingredients and brand values of Weleda, who are a company focussed on furthering the economy and promoting health and well-being across the globe.

I got on really well with each of the products and found that they nourished my highly dry and sensitive skin and calmed down the irritation I had from sun-burn on my nose (my bad for not wearing enough sun protection!). The face cream is lovely and rich, whilst the cleansing lotion is great for my skin as it doesn't strip it of the natural oils but instead leaves it feeling nourished after use. The scent is also very fresh which made it enjoyable to use. Even just after the first use of the facial oil, my complexion felt plump and it didn't leave any sort of residue on my skin like oils and serums often do. With regular and consistent use, I hope that this healthiness in my skin is maintained, which I am sure it will be.

My favourite product was the Skin Food, which I used daily on my face. It is suitable for the whole body which is great when you need to spot dream certain dry spots. It hydrated my skin really well which lastd all day and just gave me a nice fresh glow.

Have you tried any of the Weleda products? Which do you like the sound of that you'd consider trying out?  You can find out more about their skincare offerings here

Flying Tiger Store Opening in Birmingham, Selfridges

The new Tiger Store in Birmingham has arrived! Last week I was invited to the store to have a look around and pick up a few bits in order to celebrate the new opening in Selfridges. The store is located on the first floor (next to Cath Kidston) and is home to all things fun and quirky. Think of it like the Ikea of homeware and stationary!

The store holds a huge range of items to choose from including homeware, games, stationary and much more. I was actually looking for things that would come in useful for my birthday picnic that I plan to host in the next few weeks and after just a few minutes in the store, I was totally inspired. The array of colours and patterns makes it perfect for the fun summer theme I'm going for. From napkins to tablecloths and bunting, this was the perfect place to shop for any summer event you may be hosting. Just the sheer amount of candle choices made my brother a very happy person (he is the biggest candle hoarder ever).

For those of you dreading going back to school, college or university, Tiger have you sorted. I love the selection of stationary and random bits and bobs that will actually make you look forward to shopping for supplies. Just look at the milk carton pencil case and chocolate eraser! You can find a whole load of stuff to prepare you for starting the new term in a somewhat quirky fashion. What's even better is that everything is very inexpensive, making it perfect for a student budget.

I had the chance to pick up a few pieces while I was there and I am more than happy with I chose. First of all, I got a picnic mat (which I used for the background in the pictures above), made out of this wooden/woven material, making it great to take along with you for summer picnics outside. I also thought these lovely flamingo jars (which are totally instagrammable) would also be perfect for outdoor picnics that are totally, as well as this blue plastic woven basket which is perfect to store food in or little trinkets if I wanted to keep it in my bedroom. I also got a few random pieces including a much-needed selfie-stick and a Jenga-like game for those boring summer days. I love the packets of bunting I picked up as well as these fun straws, I think they'd go really well for the colourful theme I seem to be going with! These unscented candles are only £1 and look great when burning on a pretty place. Last but not least were these delicious gummy sweets and a cake stand which I absolutely adore and can't wait to use the next time I bake cupcakes.

The new store in Selfridges in Birmingham is great and the simple layout makes it easy to navigate and find anything you want. As you can see, I had a picnic event in mind when choosing my products, and I honestly recommend shopping here if you too are holding a little get-together with your friends and family. There are so many bits to choose from, I'm sure you'll be able to find something to brighten up those endless summer days! I actually can't wait to go back and pick up some pieces I may have missed to finalise my upcoming birthday picnic...

Have you ever been to Tiger yourself? If so, leave below your thoughts on the store!

Johnny Loves Rosie Blogger Breakfast #JLRGirlGang

Johnny Loves Rosie Blogger Breakfast #JLSGirlGang delicious biscuit

Last week I was invited to blogger breakfast with Johnny Loves Rosie, where not only did i get a delicious breakfast but I was lucky enough to have a look at the lovely products the company offers. We were greeted by this lovely layout of different pieces of jewellery, all of which were beautiful in their own way. I particularly loved the chokers and the cat ears! These are all available online on their website and even supply outlets such as ASOS and River Island so everything is pretty easy to get hold of. I can't wait to do some shopping, especially because its free delivery too (it'd be rude not to take advantage!).

Whilst we were tucking into our breakfast (I had salmon and scrambled egg on toast - yum!) I had the chance to talk to the lovely girls who work at Johnny Loves Rosie in Bromsgrove, where I learnt a great deal about what goes on behind the scenes. They explained how amazing it is to see a product from the beginning stages right through to the end, and then actually being able to wear the pieces for themselves.

I found that just by handling the products, they are very good quality, particularly for the inexpensive price point. Everything is so affordable but also beautifully designed, I am surprised I didn't discover this brand sooner. I've already for my eye on a satin choker and an jewelled ear cuff that I can't wait to get my hands on. Whilst these pieces are not available just yet, they will be launching very soon (early September if I remember correctly), so do keep an eye out! You can always tweet them if you'd like more information on any of these pieces you've seen here: @JLSRosieOfficial.

On the website however, there is plenty of products to choose from right now. You can buy lovely accessories that include watches, clutch bags, belts and hair accessories. There are also gorgeous matching sets of earring and necklaces that are to die for! If you haven't already, I would recommend checking out their website where they even have a 'sale' section for pretty pieces at even better prices.

Do let me know if you have purchased from Johnny Loves Rosie already or if you plan to in the near future, I'd love to see what your picks! I hope to be sharing a haul myself soon, if not on the blog then likely on my twitter page (you can follow me @aliyasabrina_).

Makeup Revolution Lip Laquer / Lipstick | Review

Makeup Revolution Lip Laquer / Lipstick | Review

Makeup Revolution is a brand that has been on my radar for a while and because of the inexpensive price tag, it has had a lot of hype surrounding it. However, this did make me doubt the quality of their products but I decided to take the plunge, since there was not much to lose really, and I am so glad that I did.

I ordered it online since they never seem to have much stock in the Superdrug stores near me, but with free Click and Collect it was so easy to make my purchase. The colour I chose 'Nothing Like You' and i honestly think it is y ideal colour. Its kind of a nude shade but has a lovely deep pink undertone that complements those with a bit of a darker skintone. It doesn't drown me out or look to bright either like most 'nude' colours do on me. Its just gorgeous to wear all year round!

For some reason I was expecting a liquid lipstick type formula (I clearly didn't read the title of the product!) so I was taken aback when I saw that it has more of a sheen to it. I have to say, I do prefer that as for some reason I find matte lipsticks quite daunting to wear sometimes. The 'lacqeur' part of the formula is as suggested and therefore can be quite thick on the lips if you end up going heavy-handed with it. However, just adding a little bit goes a long way and can instantly brighten up my face for those 'no make-up' days. It lasts a pretty long time on the lips too especially given the sheer formula. It also fades evenly leaves a nice tint to the lips afterwards.

I personally love this and think it is perfect for those like me who want something casual for everyday and in a forgiving formula that you can just apply whenever/wherever you are! You can buy from Superdrug here

Mizon Multi Function Formula All In One Snail Repair Cream | Review

Mizon Multi Function Formula All In One Snail Repair Cream | Review

Mizon Multi Function Formula All In One Snail Repair Cream | Review

Applying Snail Cream to your face sounds crazy, right? Well, I thought so too until I read the benefits of what it can really do for your skin.

I won't bore you with all the jargon surrounding the specifics of what is behind the miracles of snail cream, so I direct you to this website which I found useful in understanding the science behind the product: http://skinandtonics.com/mizon-all-in-one-snail-repair-cream-review/

Instead, I thought I would just provide you with my thoughts and experience using the product. It looks like nothing irregular and so I didn't really find it weird to use as part of my skincare routine. The actual applying of the product was indeed very weird at first as it has a slimy, gloopy texture to it. I applied it to a freshly cleansed face and whilst it did absorb very nicely into the skin, I found that it didn't particularly moisturise it so I began to use it on top of my daily moisturiser.

After using it for a around 6 weeks on a regular basis, I did notice my skin was looking a little brighter and more plump. There was nothing drastic, but I guess that is because I don't really have wrinkles or extreme hyper-pigmentation in my skin. I have read many reviews saying this is great for allergy-prone skin or scars. It is also said to be great at fading fine-lines and reduce acne scars. As it says on the tube, it is a multi-use product and is perfectly suitable for healing any skin problems you may have.

I love the whole concept of this cream and think it would be perfect for all skin types and a whole range of skin problems. With it being a total of 92% Snail Mucin (wow!), it is definitely worth a try as it means that the product is full of antioxidants, proteins, elastin and glycolic acids. This will keep your skin looking fresh, plump, moisturised, as well as fade scarring and protect the skin from further damage.
